When your vacation requires a backup plan for the entire company, you’ve got a problem. Here’s why we need to kill the ‘hero ops’ culture once and for all.
Great discussion, Neela. Rotating roles is so important for building teams and a supportive culture. Not everyone can do I've also found that mapping out a clear end-to-end process which includes everyone's tasks and documentation is vital. Not just for efficiency, but to help everyone feel valued.
Visibility into the full process makes a huge difference. When everyone understands how their piece fits into the bigger picture, it naturally builds mutual respect and ownership.
I've been learning that redundancy is not always a bad thing. And that delegating is not dumping, but inviting to share so the fabric of our work is stronger. Thanks for reminding us not to make ourselves indispensable, and to share information and process.
Thank you for always taking the time Dinah and Code Like a Girl !!!!!
We are just so happy you want to share your beautiful stories with us.
I look forward to my collaborations with you :)
I learn something new each time I read Dinah and Neela. Welcome back, Neela!
Oh that is so kind of you!!
thank you sis :)

100% Lisa.

It is fascinating to note that inverted set of values where being needed is something to aspire to.
And unfortunately this unofficial job title doesn't match the compensation it offers.
Yes! Companies often confuse indispensability with value, and the people carrying that weight get… well, the short end of the stick.
Thank you for taking the time Jay.
I hope you have a goodnight.
Seriously. It's form of brainwashing where you agree to make yourself replaceable, but often you can't reach people who are in that state of mind.
Good night, Neela:)
You cannot and by the time they figure out what’s up it is already too late.
Unfortunately that is true. Let's see if posts like these start a wave of change.
I doubt it lol

I have earned the hard way that true leadership is about making yourself replaceable in the best way possible. Thank you for the support bro.
Indeed! You said it perfectly.
Indispensability becomes an identity, not just a work habit.
Once people start tying their worth to being the one who “saves the day,” it’s hard to unlearn.
Thank you so much for taking the time :)
Happy Tuesday in advance.
